General Grant to be the Guest Speaker at Rear Admiral Sean Buck’s (Commander U. S. Naval Forces Southern Command and Commander U. S. Fourth Fleet) Farewell Dinner, Mayport Naval Base, Jacksonville, Florida

General Grant is deeply honored to be invited by Rear Admiral Sean Buck to be the guest speaker at the Admiral’s farewell dinner with his Ward Room group on May 2nd, at Mayport Naval Station, Jacksonville, Florida.

This is an inestimable privilege and indescribable honor, for which the General has no adequate words; except, perhaps, what he wrote in his “Personal Memoirs” when he said “The Navy gave a hearty support to the army at Shiloh, as indeed, it always did both before and subsequently when I was in command.” (Vol l, Chapter 25)
