GENERAL GRANT: THE MAN BEHIND THE UNIFORM

Who, or perhaps, better to ask, who WAS General Ullysses S. Grant: the man who so iconically gazes back at us from the photographs and books?                                                        He is shown in sepia tones, or black and white, usually with an almost melancholy expression.
However, he was one of the most dynamic and important figures in American history; in both military and Presidential roles in that History.
He is one of the most recognized, yet least known people, of his time, (or ours).                 Did you know he was the most photographed man in the world in the 19th century?
He was tone-deaf and didn’t like music?
That he liked to bowl?                                                                                                                           His favorite breakfast?

Please join us and pleasantly pass the evening with nationally known Living Historian, Dr. Curt Fields as he assumes the personna of General Grant with us and to tell us of his life, of himself, and how he came to be that person who gazes at us from those old photographs.
