General Grant is pleased to announce that he will attend “The Grande Reunion” at Fort Donelson the weekend of October 7th-9th, 2016.  This event will recognize and honor the soldiers of both armies that met and struggled at Fort Donelson during the War.

A school day will be held on Friday.  Registration of participating attendee’s will be that day as well.  At 7:00 o’clock p. m. that evening a reception to meet and talk with descendants of the armies will be held at the Stewart County Visitor’s Center (117 Visitor’s Center Drive, Dover, TN).

Saturday will see: tours, an olde time barb-be-que, a panel discussion (at 1:15 p. m.), a Confederate Memorial service (at 4:30 p. m.), and a Civil War Cotillion soiree                        at (7:00 p. m.).

Sunday will see: a Union Memorial service (at 9:30 a. m.),  A Fort Donelson National Cemetery tour (at 10:00 a. m.), and a period worship service (at 11:00 a.m.).
