The next evening, Friday, April 22nd, General and Julia Grant will receive the public at a gathering also at the Church.

Saturday will be the biggest day with a period magician, and period music, artillery fire, tours of the Grant Home and Schoolhouse.  This year the Living Historian group, Lincoln’s Generals will join General Grant as they re-create the Headquarters encampment of General Grant in the field at the time of the surrender at Appomattox Court House, VA.  They portray many of the significant officers on General Grant’s staff and give interesting talks to the public in first person at all times.  This is a ‘don’t miss’ event for Civil War enthusiasts.  General Grant hopes to see you there and meet you!

The General urges all to visit the Facebook page: The Ulysses S. Grant Boyhood Home and Schoolhouse and to go to their website: usgrantboyhoodhome.org
